Expertise / Electrical engineering

Industrial electrical engineering for demanding environments.

The electrical file, before the first cable.

MAJ Solutions carries out your electrical engineering: diagrams, low-voltage sizing, panel design and review of existing files, with a particular focus on pharmaceutical and biotech environments.

We deliver technical files ready for the works, whether they go to your own contractor or to our teams.

Technical skills

From design to a usable electrical file

  • Electrical diagrams & drawings

Producing and updating electrical diagrams in SEE Electrical, circuit identification and equipment documentation. Bringing existing drawings up to date from the available technical information and site surveys.

  • Low-voltage sizing

Power balances, sizing of protective devices and conductor cross-sections, voltage drop checks and calculation notes based on the characteristics of the installation.

  • Electrical panel design

Defining the architecture, component layout and connection arrangement, taking into account space and environmental constraints and the interfaces with automation and instrumentation.

  • Review of existing files

Critical review of electrical files produced by third parties. Identifying inconsistencies, missing information and points to correct or clarify before a modification or the start of works.

Demanding environments

What a pharmaceutical environment changes in an electrical study

In a cleanroom, an airlock or a site in operation, the study has to anticipate layout constraints, power continuity needs and documentation requirements.

  • Layout in controlled areas

Favouring equipment that can be reached from outside the clean areas wherever possible. Defining layout, cable routes and wall penetrations with cleaning and maintenance work in mind.

  • Continuity of critical equipment

Identifying the equipment sensitive to power cuts (EMS, enclosures, utilities), assessing the impact of an interruption and studying protection and backup power solutions where needed.

  • Documentation for acceptance and qualification

Preparing the documents and test protocols within the scope of the study, along with the elements needed for the RGIE inspection by an approved body. Where GxP requirements apply, these deliverables can also support the site’s change control and qualification.

Applications & assignments

When to call on MAJ for electrical engineering?

  • Targeted technical review

An existing electrical file to check before a modification or works. We bring an outside view to the available documents and deliver a summary of inconsistencies, missing information and points to clarify.

Example request Reviewing an electrical file before extending an installation.

  • Technical reinforcement

Your team or your integrator needs electrical engineering support on an ongoing project. We work within a defined scope and duration, with agreed responsibilities.

Example request Coordinating the interfaces between electrical, automation and instrumentation during a cleanroom fit-out.

  • Independent electrical study

New project, extension or modification of an existing installation: we carry out the studies, diagrams and sizing notes within the agreed scope, and hand over a file your teams or your contractor can work from.

Example request Electrical study for integrating a new piece of pharmaceutical production equipment.
